Founded in 2009 and led by award-winning producers David Maher and David Taylor, Playmaker is an Australian television production company specialising in high quality authored and award-winning drama.  

Some of their recent titles include Reckoning (Sony Pictures Television Networks), 2019 Logie Award for Most Outstanding Mini-Series Bloom (Stan), The Wrong Girl (TEN Network), Love Child (NINE Network), Logie Award for Most Popular Drama House Husbands (NINE Network), AACTA Award for Best Drama Series The Code (ABC), Emmy Nominated SLiDE (Foxtel) as well as recent mini-series Friday On My Mind (ABC) and the Mandarin-language version of thriller Chosen, made in Australia for China’s largest streaming service iQiyi.

Playmaker is currently in production on a new Stan Original series The Commons. Made with the support of Sony Pictures Television, it stars Golden Globe Winner and three-time Emmy Nominee, Joanne Froggatt (Liar, Downton Abbey), as well as Damon Herriman (Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, Judy and Punch) in a supporting role.
